Transformative and WILD. See Grumble” – Peaches

Why is the ABC taking this sex clown SERIOUSLY?”

Emma Maye Gibson (AKA Betty Grumble) is a Sydney based performance artist.
Largely through the avatar/war mask/love letter/critter of Betty Grumble she engages her body as a medicinal site of performative catharsis, often in a genre smash of ritual physical theatre, cabaret, performance art and multi-media. She is a proud ecosexual and believes in the spiritual powers of live space. She has her Masters in Fine Arts/Arse and has presented work at Dark Mofo, The Sydney Opera House, Glastonbury, Edinburgh Fringe, Perth & Adelaide Fringes, The Melbourne Comedy Festival, The Festival of Dangerous Ideas, Belvoir St Theatre, The Bearded Tit, Berlin Fringe and beyond. She believes in the flesh riot and is currently engaged in developing a new work under the guidance of mentor Annie Sprinkle in her world-saving trilogy of performance ceremony.

I Betty Grumble am a war mask, love letter, critter and art wish of a woman in the world.

I promise to resonate joy, turning my body into a source of renewable love energy.

I am a proud Ecosexual.

I thank you Body. Earth Body, Cosmic Body, Collective Body, Communing Body.

I want to re-destribute power via the vehicles of pleasure, creating rituals of dance, theatre, poetry, film, sculpture and song.

I want to collaborate with fierce forces, uniting in grief, rage, hope and sex energy.

I promise to Read The Vibe with ongoing pursuit to Be The Vibe.

I dedicate my invention to Spirit, respecting, acknowledging and listening to the First Nation voices of our world.

I love you.

In everything we do, we acknowledge that we live on Aboriginal land and constantly learn from the wisdom of First Peoples.

Where we are and the history that precedes us informs how we work and how we move forward.
