What do you do when there is nothing on the Box? Meet Ziggy Swift – a high energy hip-hop, break-dancing puppet. Guarded from fans by two Matrix-styled bodyguards (the Puppeteers), Ziggy Swift bursts from the confines of his TV set home, taking audiences on a fast furious funky hip-hop ride. Ziggy doesn’t need words, just a pumpin’ sound track.

Ziggy Swift was first developed for Kyogle Youth Action in 2004. 2005 saw Ziggy Swift as a main attraction at Big Feet Little Feet, a collection of local, professional dance pieces in Byron Bay. It has been performed at Chuncheon International Puppet Festival; Puppets are Plenty Festival, Walsall, England; as part of The Puppet Caravan: a tour from the East to West coast of Australia; the UNIMA 2008 World Congress and Puppetry Festival, Perth; and at ASSITEJ 2008. It is suitable for 8+ age range.

Begun in 1999, Krinkl Theatre crinkle, wrap and sticky tape newspaper, plastic bags, coloured paper and other discarded objects to create delightful visual images and puppets. Innovative and engaging puppet theatre for the whole family, Krinkl keeps its audience sitting on the knife’s edge between the fantasy of animated objects and the reality of rubbish.

All performances are non-verbal and endeavour to creatively raise the awareness of audiences around social and environmental issues.

Since their inception Krinkl Theatre have performed their works in Slovenia; Singapore; South Korea; Walsall, England; Woodford Folk Festival, Woodford; Bellingen; Adelaide; Sydney; and Melbourne

Krinkl Theatre founders Lara Cruickshank and Padi Bolliger are trained puppeteers. They create their own work, accept commissions, and act as coordinators where appropriate. Krinkl were the major coordinators for The Puppet Caravan (Official event, UMINA World Congress and International Puppet Festival, Perth), a four and half week tour presenting the work of nine national and international puppeteers from the East to the West coast of Australia, a tour that covered 6,500km.
