Nathan Maynard’s The Season wins Best Production at Green Room Awards

Congratulations to Nathan Maynard, Isaac Drandic and the cast, and to producer Annette Downs from our Hobart office for their three awards at last night’s Green Room Awards, including the big one – Best Production!

Director Isaac Drandic took home Best Direction, and playwright Nathan Maynard won Best New Writing for the show – his first full length play.

The Season is a loving portrait of a Tasmanian Aboriginal family who return each year to Dog Island in the Bass Strait for Mutton Bird Season, a tradition that endures and thrives despite two centuries of colonisation.

Supported by the Major Festivals Initiative, Arts Tasmania and the Australia Council, the show is heading on national tour throughout August and September this year to venues right around the country. Check out the full tour dates here>>

Congrats again to Annette and the team on a thoroughly deserved awards haul!

Performing Lines acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work – the Gadigal in Sydney, the Whadjuk in Perth, and the Muwinina in Hobart – and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

We extend those respects to all First Nations peoples on whose lands we travel and perform.
