New initiative for WA independent artists

FLOCK is a monthly forum for Perth’s independent and freelance artists to share practice and conversation with each other, led by Alex Desebrock and Daisy Sanders.

It is by artists, and for artists.

At each FLOCK event one local independent artist leads a creative workshop and this is followed by a facilitated debrief and discussion.

Therefore:FLOCK will support, invigorate and connect Perth independent artists.

FLOCK will empower Perth artists to teach and learn from each other across disciplines, and to meet for meaningful artistic exchange and sector conversation on a regular basis.

FLOCK will:

  • generate artistic skill sharing and professional development
  • support independent artists to meet, exchange and organise as a group
  • establish relationships between Perth arts organisations and independent artists

The first FLOCK event will be:
Wednesday 4th July | 5pm – 8.30pm
King Street Arts Centre | Hosted by Performing Lines WA

WORKSHOP ARTIST: Daisy Sanders – Momentum and Rest in Creative Process

FACILITATOR: Alex Desebrock – Top tens of best practice in the independent arts sector

Independent artists – all disciplines, all stages of career – attend FLOCK for free. Attendance is held by a $10 deposit, fully refunded in cash to attendees on the night.

Artists – please bring a plate to share (free, communal catering!) and consider donating to our ‘sprog fund’, which will support artists with children to attend.
