ACCA, Carriageworks & MONA | The Katthy Cavaliere Fellowship
Female-identifying artists working at the nexus of performance and installation are invited to apply for a share of $300,000 in this joint commissioning program. Applications close Mon 17 December.

Inner West Council | EDGE Sydenham & GreenWay
The program will make over local neighbourhoods and precincts with innovative art installations, street art, light projects, music and live performances that celebrate the powerful impact of creatives in our communities. Applications close Mon 17 December.

Arts NT | Professional Development Grant
The Professional Development Fund grants offer support for professional artists and arts workers in the Northern Territory (NT) to access development opportunities. The grants support all of the following: profile NT arts and culture; increase skills, knowledge and capacity of NT artists and arts workers; contribute to NT arts sector development. Applications open year to NT artists.

Department of Local Govt, Sport and Cultural Industries | Online Grant Shutdown
WA artists – Culture and the Arts Grants will be closing for the holidays and system upgrades from late December to early January.  If you plan to start a project between 19 December 2018 and 12 February 2019 inclusive, click here for more info>>

Create NSW | Vision 360: VR/AR grants
Offering six grants of up to $20,000 each for professional artists to develop virtual reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) work. The grants are available for a range of NSW based practitioners working across diverse practices; including visual arts, theatre, dance, music, literature, and/or museum practices. Applications close Mon 7 January.

Australia Council | International Residencies program
There are a bunch of international residency opportunities available for 2019 in Paris, New York, Berlin, Rome, Helsinki and more. All are paid opportunities, durations vary. Applications close Tues 15 January.

Ian Potter Cultural Trust | Career Development Grants
The Cultural Trust offers grants up to $10,000 to assist talented emerging and early career artists to take up professional development opportunities, usually overseas. Applications close Tues 15 January.

Performance Space | Queer Development Program
Applications are open for both the Stephen Cummins Residency (supporting one queer artist to develop new work) and the Queer Workshop Intensive. Applications for both close 18 Fri 18 January.

 

Create NSW | Artist Support

Performance Space & Critical Path | Experimental Choreographic Residency 2019
Our friends at P Space and Critical Path have teamed up once again for their annual Experimental Choreographic Residency. Artists from across Australia are invited to apply for three weeks of space at the Drill Hall, a $7500 fee and support and advice from both orgs. Applications close Thurs 24 January.

Critical Path, The Anthropocene Transition Project & Strange Attractor | Choreographic Hack Lab
Five artists with a choreographic practice will be joined by five practitioners from across the health, science and other sectors engaging with the concept of the antropocene. EOIs close Thurs 24 January.

Australia Council | Various awards and bequests

  • Marten Bequest: travelling scholarships offer young artists (acting, architecture, ballet, instrumental music, painting, poetry, prose, sculpture and singing) the chance to explore, study and develop their practice through travelling either overseas or interstate. More info>>
  • Dal Stivens Award: presented biennially to an author aged 30 or under, for a short story or essay of the highest literary merit. More info>>
  • Kathleen Mitchell Award: presented biennially to the author, aged 30 or under, of an outstanding novel or novella to encourage advancement in their literary career. More info>>

Victorian Government | Community Arts Grants program
Provides funding for creative arts projects that reflect the experiences of local communities directly affected by the 2009 bushfires.
