Also – meet Kate Fallon! She has been working with us as interim Administrator for a few weeks, while on holiday from her career in the arts in the UK. She will be with us for a few more weeks before continuing her travels around Australia.

Australian artists, curators, producers, presenters and critics working in contemporary performance are eligible. This meeting is suitable for artists and curators seeking to develop interdisciplinary performance exchanges with Asia. Applications close Tues 4 June.

Force Majeure | INCITE Intensive with Gideon Obarzanek
A two-week dance theatre training course for professional actors, writers, directors and creatives looking to integrate movement and text in their work. This year, INCITE features Force AD Danielle Micich; director, choreographer and curator Gideon Obarzanek; and Sydney Theatre Company’s voice coach Charmian Gradwell. EOIs close Mon 10 June.

Overland Short Story Prize

Overland and Victoria University | Short Story Prize
Prize for original short fiction of up to 3 000 words in length. First prize will receive $6 000 and two runners up will take home $1 000 each, with all three stories will be published in the spring issue of Overland. Applications close Mon 10 June.

  • Distinctive Work ($3.5k) for an artistic performance, exhibition, film, television show, play, composition, research project etc

Situate | Generate GC Lab
GENERATE GC provides early to mid-career Gold Coast artists opportunities to develop concepts that respond to Gold Coast communities and environments. The GENERATE GC Lab is the first step in the program and up to ten artists will be selected to participate.  The Lab is an intensive interdisciplinary residency designed to stimulate ideas and extend artists’ knowledge through provocation and mentoring. AusDance Vic | Australia Youth Dance Festival – 7 to 12 July
Dancers will dance, think, make and talk dance together, through daily sessions in contemporary dance, choreography, repertory and improvisation. Running alongside the youth dancers’ sessions is a 2.5-day Think Tank program for dance leaders, educators, professional and emerging artists with an interest in youth dance/arts practice.
