This month’s opportunities are here for you, with goodies up from the Australia Council for the Arts including a delegation to ADAM in Taiwan, residencies in Japan, workshops at Arts House, professional development with Force Majeure (and Gideon Obarzanek!), and the chance to work with us as First Nations Emerging Producer!

Also – meet Kate Fallon! She has been working with us as interim Administrator for a few weeks, while on holiday from her career in the arts in the UK. She will be with us for a few more weeks before continuing her travels around Australia.

Overland and Victoria University | Short Story Prize
Prize for original short fiction of up to 3 000 words in length. First prize will receive $6 000 and two runners up will take home $1 000 each, with all three stories will be published in the spring issue of Overland. Applications close Mon 10 June.

UWA Conservatory of Music | Gender Diversity in the Arts Conference
This four-day international conference will focus on vital, diverse and inspiring music and art making by women and gender-diverse artists and scholars. Conference runs 16 – 19 July – registrations now open.

Belvoir | Weekend Workshops
A series of weekend workshops specifically designed to improve your communication and presentation skills, these workshops will focus on developing simple techniques used by actors to give you more confidence and ease when speaking in public. In a supportive, fun environment, you will explore the critical building blocks of presence, language and delivery. Runs 8 – 22 June.

Arts House | Makeshift Artist Development Opportunities
Makeshift is professional development by artists, for artists that switches between intensive workshops and gatherings.

Tokyo Arts and Space | Research Residency Program 2020
Opportunities to conduct research on arts and culture in the city of Tokyo, targeting both international and local creators in the field of visual art, design, architecture, music, sound art, performing art and curation. Applications close Fri 28 June.

Kyoto Arts Centre | Artist-in-Residence Program 2020 for Performing Arts
Offers support to emerging artists and art researchers who wish to pursue creative activities in Kyoto. They switch between hosting visual artist and performing artist every year. In 2020, the program is open for performing artists / researchers. Applications close Sun 30 June.

Communicating the Arts | Early Bird registration deadline
Over 3 days in November, this conference will gather 300+ arts communication professionals in Sydney to shine a light on arts leadership: what it means, what it does, and how to wield it. Early bird regos close Sun 30 June.

All The Queens Men | Ahead of the Game residency
Queer artists based in the Australian Capital Territory are invited to apply for this three-week paid intensive looking at the intersection of queer identities and sport. Applications close Sun 7 July.

AusDance Vic | Australia Youth Dance Festival – 7 to 12 July
Dancers will dance, think, make and talk dance together, through daily sessions in contemporary dance, choreography, repertory and improvisation. Running alongside the youth dancers’ sessions is a 2.5-day Think Tank program for dance leaders, educators, professional and emerging artists with an interest in youth dance/arts practice.

Bundanon Trust | 2020 artist residencies
Open to professional artists and thinkers from all disciplines, individually or in groups. Supports new work, research and collaborations by Australian and international artists, hosted in beautiful purpose-built studios. Applications close Mon 29 July.
