Performing Lines nominated for Tour of the Year

We are delighted to announce that The Farm and Performing Lines, in association with NORPA and Arts on Tour, have been nominated for Performing Arts Connections Australia’s Tour of the Year Award for our national tour of Cockfight in 2018.

A genre-bending performance that blurred intensely physical movement, comedy and theatre, Cockfight used humour and pathos to explore the toxic side of contemporary masculinity and corporate culture.

“Touring is a critical factor in the way Performing Lines extends the work it produces and reaches audiences who would otherwise not experience new and interesting Australian performance,” Executive Producer Marion Potts said.

“To be acknowledged for its contribution to our cultural vitality is thrilling, but more importantly, motivating.”

Taking in venues across the country, the tour included extensive community engagement activities, including movement and theatre workshops, rooftop yoga, office block takeovers and guided post-show meditations.

We are now working with The Farm on their latest work Throttle, a high-octane b-grade thriller performed on a footy field, viewed from your car and lit by your headlights.

Congratulations to our fellow nominees in this year’s PAC Australia Drover Awards, and to those venues nominated for Performing Arts Centre of the Year. The Awards will be announced in late August.
