2022 Kolyang Creative Hub | EOI’s Open!

We are excited to announce applications are open for our 2022 Kolyang Creative Hub.  This is a paid opportunity for mid-career and established artists, taking place at the Subiaco Arts Centre between 8 and 26 August 2022.

Funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, our generous industry partner organisations and supported by the Perth Theatre Trust, this year’s residency has a focus on the development of artistic ideas, skills development and fostering creative connections.

Special funding from the Australia Council for the Arts in 2022 will allow us to measure and share the impact Kolyang has had across the three-year arc. Participants will be asked to input in to this evaluation process.

We are looking for a cohort of artists from all artforms who have a project idea, specific skill or methodology they would like to explore during the Hub, as well as an interest in cross-artform collaborations, generosity in practice-sharing and willingness to contribute to the Hub community.

We aim to ensure the cohort is representative of all aspects of diversity and difference that make up our industry, and broader community.

Approximately 25 mid-career independent artists from across the State will be paid to participate in the Hub as suits their specific needs, joined by a group of emerging disabled artists from the Diversity Lab.

Participants will be selected via an EOI assessed by the Kolyang Creative Hub Artist Advisory and Performing Lines WA team.

Each artist will receive a fee of $1,500 + super, and a $100 travel allowance to attend the Hub for a minimum of 6 days across the 3 weeks. Our partners at CircuitWest will support regional artists with up to $1,400 additional support to subsidise travel, accommodation and per diems.

Creative Hub participants may also be able to access additional financial support (approx. $500) to facilitate collaboration with artists from outside of the cohort, or to use on materials/resources to progress their concept.
