Three new producers join the team & new investment in First Nations producing

Performing Lines is excited to announce the appointment of three new producers to our national producing team:

  • Tahni Froudist (Albury-Wodonga, NSW)
  • Annette Vieusseux (Melbourne, Vic)
  • Liesel Zink (Brisbane, Qld)

We will also launch a new NSW First Nations Producer Development Program in February 2019.

Each producer will be taking on key projects in the Performing Lines 2019 program, including Nat Randall and Anna Breckon’s The Second Woman in Adelaide Festival and potential presentations in Canada; Amrita Hepi’s A Call to Dance, developing new commissions with Arts Centre Melbourne and AsiaTOPA; and an innovative new regional engagement partnership between Performing Lines and a network of regional venues.

“I am thrilled to announce the appointment of these experienced and respected producers who will more accurately reflect Performing Lines’ national identity,” said Marion Potts, Executive Producer.

“This marks an exciting expansion and strengthening of our producing network and knowledge base. With more than ten new works in development in 2019, as well as a suite of national and international collaborations, our commitment to supporting artists to realise their ambitions has never been stronger,” said Potts.

Building on our longstanding commitment to support the development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait performing arts in Australia, Performing Lines will open recruitment for the NSW First Nations Producer Development Program in February.

Two producers, one emerging and one mid-career, will work with and be mentored by the team, and have the opportunity to produce their own work supported by Performing Lines. More details will be announced when applications open in February 2019.
