Laara Sadiq to perform The Second Woman in Toronto

We are very excited to announce that Canadian screen and stage performer Laara Sadiq will be performing The Second Woman for our North American premiere at Harbourfront Centre in Toronto this July.

An award-winning stage, screen and voice actress, Sadiq has appeared in many film and TV roles internationally, including in Arrow, Battlestar Galactica, Special Correspondents, The X Files and lent her voice to Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning animated feature The Breadwinner, produced by Angelina Jolie.

Laara is looking forward to the epic endurance feat of performing for 24 hours against 100 different male participants drawn from across the local community.

Show creators Nat Randall and Anna Breckon will travel to Canada in early July, and will spend two weeks preparing her the challenging role.

“We are thrilled to be working with Laara Sadiq,” co-creators Randall and Breckon said.

“She is a dynamic actor and her breadth and depth of experience across film, television and theatre makes her perfect for this project. We can’t wait to start work with her.”

Registrations are currently open for men aged 18 and over to be part of the show. No previous performance experience required, and all access needs have been taken into consideration.

The Second Woman makes it North American debut as part of BRAVE Festival at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre.
