EOI now open for PLWA cultural diverse artist residency

Performing Lines WA produces, presents and tours transformative works created by Independent West Australian artists. 

The Culturally Diverse Artist Residency* is a safe and creative environment for the next generation of culturally diverse artists in WA to explore ideas, build new relationships and unpack performance making processes. 

Over 4 days, 6-8 creatives will learn from highly skilled artform mentors, and leaders through workshops, one on one and group sessions and informal networking opportunities 

Each participant will be paid $1000 to attend the residency.

In order to apply, please complete this short EOI here.  

The EOI is a simple questionnaire to enable us to find out about you, your practice and your project idea. The EOI should only take you 15 min if you have decided on your project idea.  

A project idea is an idea for a new performance work that you hope to explore, or test over the course of the residency. It can be as basic or complex as you would like.  

We are looking for creatives that are interested in pursuing a career in the performing arts and are from a culturally diverse background. 

Eligibility

  • Culturally Diverse Emerging and Midcareer artists from all artforms including writers, dancers, theatre makers, designers etc.*  
  • All participants are required to come into the space with a new project idea that they will unpack over the course of the residency. 
  • Applicants must be available for the entire duration of the residency from Thursday evening 23rd July 2020 – Monday afternoon 27th July 2020. 
  • Participants must be WA residents. 

 

*Please note if you are not from a culturally diverse background, you will not be considered. 

Selection process

Deadline for completing EOI is 11pm, Friday June 26th 2020

Successful applicants will be notified on Wednesday July 1st 2020
