Contemporary Asian Australia Performance is dedicated to making exceptional contemporary Asian Australian work for all audiences. We engender greater cultural diversity in Australian performing arts by producing cross art form theatrical works of the highest quality, in partnership with major festivals and flagship companies.
Our highly acclaimed works include the Sydney Festival hits The Serpent’s Table and In Between Two (also OzAsia and Melbourne Festivals), Yasukichi Murakami – Through A Distant Lens (Darwin Festival), The Backstories (Adelaide Festival), Stories Then & Now and Who Speaks For Me?
CAAP is home to the Asian Australian Performance Directory, the Longhouse Networking Program, the Lotus Playwriting Project (in partnership with Playwriting Australia) and the CAAP Directors Initiative.
Led by Executive Producer Annette Shun Wah, we aim to develop, nurture and champion Asian Australian artists to take their place on main stages nationally and internationally.
