PERFORMING LINES | Hot desks for artists
Working on a creative project or grant application and need an office space? Got a meeting coming up that you need a space for? Performing Lines has FREE office and meeting spaces available for artists and producers – this week we have Zoe and Adriane from Side Pony Productions, Producer Gemma Pepper and writer & performer Katie Beckett in the house. There’s internet access, an office full of friendly faces (including Norman the Spoodle), and advice and feedback on your project or application if you need it. CHUNKY MOVE | Next Move Expressions of Interest
In 2018, Chunky Move will commission an artist to create a new full-length work for the Next Move program. Australian dance makers with at least 5 years of professional practice are invited to submit an expression of interest by Fri 13 October. More info>>

CRITICAL PATH | Bill Shannon: Translations Workshop
An intensive workshop facilitated by world-renowned multidisciplinary artist Bill Shannon for artists with physical disability.  Bill invites participants to explore their individual movement patterns as the basis for a personal artistic language. EOIs close Fri 13 October. More info>>

 PERFORMANCE SPACE | Male performers required for The Second Woman
The Second Woman is seeking male-identifying participants aged 18+ for speaking roles (scripts provided). No acting experience necessary. 10 minute slots in a 24 hour performance on 20 & 21 October, please expect irregular show times. This is a paid position. Applications close Wed 18 October. FESTIVALS AUSTRALIA FUNDING | Boosting community participation and audience engagement
Do you have a project that involves community engagement you would like to run at a regional event (festival, one-off celebration, etc.)? Supporting community participation and access to the arts, Festivals Australia funding aims to support partnerships and collaboration across the sector. The program is open to regional artists, arts workers, and organisations. Applications close Friday 20 October 2017 for projects commencing after 1 February 2018. More info>>

FORCE MAJEURE | Dancers required for new Commonwealth Games show
Our friends at Force Majeure are creating a new show Flock, a large scale site-specific piece to be performed across 500 metres of beach in the Gold Coast. They need 80 trained dancers with a background in contemporary dance, theatre, ballet or street dancing. You must be 16+ years, have at least three years experience, capable of remembering sequences of detailed choreography and be available all rehearsals (9 – 11 APR 2018) and performance dates (12 – 15 APR 2018), as well as two other weekend rehearsals in February and March 2018. MELT is an invitation to celebrate LGBTIQ+ culture through a dynamic, fun and highly engaging program of curated events featuring local, national and international artists and performances. Submissions close Mon 30 October. More info>>

NEWSCATLE FRINGE | 2018 applications are now open
The Fringe is a new international performing arts festival located in Newcastle, NSW. The 2018 festival will run from 21 - 25 March 2018. The fringe offers six performance venues and fees are calculated on a 70/30 split with the venue. Applications close Mon 30 October. More info>>

ANYWHERE FESTIVAL | Callout for work for programming in 2018
Applications are open to emerging and established artists who want to present theatre, music, poetry, dance, opera, ballet, immersive works, installations and comedy anywhere but a theatre in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Applications close Tues 31 October. More info>>

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT, SPORT & CULTURAL INDUSTRIES (WA) | Connecting to Country Grants

TERRAPIN PUPPET THEATRE | Contemporary Puppetry Residency
We <3 Terrapin, and this is a great paid opportunity for artists working across artforms to develop a new contemporary puppetry work. The residency is open to all independent, professional Australian artists, companies and ensembles who are developing a project that relates to puppetry. Terrapin will provide artist fees (up to $6k), accommodation, studio space, access to Terrapin’s technical resources for a two week period plus travel expenses. Applications close Fri 17 November. PLAYWRITING AUSTRALIA| Max Afford Playwrights’ Award
Playwrights aged 18 to 40 are invited to submit their script for the Max Afford Playwright Award to receive a $15,000 cash prize and $15,000 towards development for the chosen play. This award has been established in the honour of the late Australian playwright and novelist Malcolm ‘Max’ and is administered by Playwriting Australia. Submissions close Sun 19 November.
