Presented by Carriageworks, Dancehouse, the Australia Council and the Keir Foundation, this national biennial award is dedicated to the commission, presentation, promotion and dissemination of experimental and cross-platform practices in contemporary Australian dance. K3 – ZENTRUM FÜR CHOREOGRAPHIE | Tanzplan Hamburg | International Early Career residencies
K3 – Zentrum für Choreographie is offering three residencies to choreographers at the beginning of their professional career. CRITICAL PATH | Mirramu Regional Artist Residency
Mirramu and Critical Path are seeking proposals from a NSW artist for a residency program (13-24 November 2017) taking place parallel to that of Taiwanese artist I-Chin Lin. We are interested to hear from artists who feel that a residency at Mirramu will be of particular benefit to them and that sharing the residency period with I-Chin Lin will be of interest to them. The VicArts Grants program supports Victoria's artists and smaller arts companies from a wide range of art forms, offering up to $75,000 in funding for creative projects and programs commencing from 1 January 2018. From creative development to the presentation of new work and international residencies, the VicArts grants program supports a variety of small to large scale projects. DIRECTORS LAB: MELBOURNE | Applications now open
Inspired by the Lincoln Center model, Directors Lab: Melbourne is an eight-day creative laboratory held in collaboration with Melbourne Festival. The program accepts 30 directors from across Australia and the world, to participate in a packed roster of masterclasses, performance and rigorous debate with leading national and international theatre makers. CREATIVE VICTORIA | Regional Centre For Culture Local Grants
The inaugural Regional Centre for Culture in 2018 encompasses the City of Greater Bendigo, Mount Alexander Shire, Central Goldfields Shire and Hepburn Shire. This area has been named the first Regional Centre for Culture because of its significant reputation in arts and creativity. Designed to support creative practitioners and collectives across all disciplines, and at all career stages, The Creators Fund allows for three to six months of creative development, research or experimentation for new ideas and initiatives. Applicants will need to demonstrate how this time will assist in the production of a significant work or will support their career advancement. AUSTRALIA COUNCIL | Future Leaders Program applications now open
EOIs are now open for emerging arts leaders to take part in the Australia Council’s Future Leaders Program. Participants will need to commit to a six-month course, which includes two intensive three-day residentials, workshops, an online course and access to optional mentoring and secondments. A full day festival entirely focused on Indigenous and culturally diverse Australian writers and writing. This free event at Bankstown Arts Centre on 28 October and will include performances, readings, panel discussions, audiovisual experiences, workshops for children and adults, and performances.
